Efficient information exchange is crucial across the animal health supply chain. To enable this, AMIS Conclusion developed an intelligent interface built around a service-oriented architecture.
Process optimisation
For effective animal health analysis, livestock farmers, veterinarians and public services need fast, consistent access to the right information at the lowest possible cost. An optimally organised supply chain is essential to achieving this.
To improve processes across the animal health supply chain, we focused on streamlining, accelerating and simplifying laboratory health analyses. When a sample is collected, the analysis request is registered digitally using a standardised product and service catalogue (PDC), enabling faster laboratory processing. Both the requested tests and any follow-up tests are recorded using this standardised PDC. The digital registration is linked to the back office, making results available to veterinarians and livestock farmers through an online portal.
The main internal objectives for optimising the supply chain were:
• Standardising and simplifying business processes;
• Digitising business operations;
• Implementing new, simplified business applications based on the defined and digitised business processes.
To achieve this, AMIS Conclusion provides controlled integration of SaaS solutions and all other standard solutions within the supply chain, based on a service-oriented architecture. This process manages digital registration, sample receipt, data provision to the ERP system at various process stages, control of the Laboratory Management System and reporting through the portal. This makes the information hub the central link in the supply chain.
The impact of this new approach is impressive. It has significantly reduced staff hours, made processes more transparent and easier to understand, and greatly improved the information provided to livestock farmers and veterinarians. Standardisation and the elimination of handwritten notes have also reduced the risk of information loss, further improving service quality.
