What is the Science-Based Targets initiative?
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. Science-based targets describe the reduction in greenhouse gases needed to limit the average global temperature increase to a maximum of 1.5 degrees Celsius. The SBTi is considered the "gold standard" for determining CO2 reduction targets.
Commitment to SBTi: A Logical Step in Our Sustainability Strategy
In line with our sustainability strategy and internationalisation, Conclusion sees the commitment to set targets through SBTi as a logical step. Our commitment to Science-Based Targets aligns seamlessly with our existing greenhouse gas reduction management system for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With this, we've already achieved a significant emission reduction in the Netherlands. "Committing to the SBTi status is an important step for Conclusion Group," says Danique Lindner, our Environmental & Footprint Specialist. "It demonstrates our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and contributing to a sustainable future. By further intensifying our focus on sustainability and transparency, we proactively respond to the expectations of our stakeholders."
